We back people who want to make a difference with the skills, confidence and support to make good things happen in their communities.
Our work has two strands:

MADE to Lead:
equipping our community
Our community leadership pathway empowering emerging leaders with “lived experience” of hardship to build resilience, grow, and lead change in their communities
Manaaki Collective:
serving our community
2.
Our growing network of graduates, volunteers and community partners, working together to meet real community needs, share resources, and ensure those doing the mahi are supported and not alone.

“I got so much out of the leadership programme. I learnt it’s about being a leader in your own house before you can do it in the community. Not just ‘do what I say’, but lead by example. I now know my calling, and that’s to work in the community with inmates being released from prison, that I can connect with through my past as an ex-gang member, a person of unforgiveness, drug addiction, depression, and quite a few other things. Those have become skills I can use to help those people.”

Our participants graduated from Year One, Two, and Three of our MADE to Lead programme in December 2025. 61% are parents with 97 children & grandchildren between them.

200+ people are participating in community groups led by our graduates
The leaders we equip and empower are actively engaging others in their communities, with 200+ people participating in groups they lead - including women’s groups, men’s groups, youth groups, outreach groups and charitable trusts.

280 tamariki & rangatahi benefitted from their parents' growth
In 2025 our programmes and initiatives directly engaged 183 adults, including 112 parents, benefitting 280 children and youth whose parents are being empowered and supported (at 2.5 kids per parent)
