Building stronger support: Community Training Workshop – 11 October

On 11 October we hosted a full-day training workshop for our community partners and emerging leaders, equipping them to better support the people in their groups and prepare for our emotional healing workshops launching in 2026.

Led by Pris Moodley, the session brought together 33 leaders from our wider community, including whānau from Sistahood and Kingsmen groups. Throughout the day, Pris taught practical tools for understanding people’s emotional and spiritual journeys, creating a safe space to empower those walking alongside whānau.

The room was full of energy, connection, and honest discussion. Participants shared how valuable the training was, with many saying they left feeling more equipped, encouraged, and inspired. The feedback was overwhelmingly positive, and there’s already strong excitement for Part 2 of the training, which will be offered in early 2026.

We are very thankful to NZMA in Manukau for letting us use their venue, to Sistahood and our chef extraordinaire, Virginia, for the amazing kai, and to Pro Love for donating journals and pens!

This workshop was a great example of the community coming together and another step toward strengthening our collective capacity to support whānau, restore mana, and build thriving communities together!
